Different paths to an answer
A native API request and a request made inside a consumer chat app are different journeys. The app may involve account features, interface behavior or additional product workflows. Our planned probes call provider APIs directly. They do not log into ChatGPT, Claude or the Gemini consumer app.
What the provider cards mean
The OpenAI, Anthropic and Google cards describe our measurement state. Their companion app names identify the provider; they do not imply that our probes test the app itself. An unknown card means the monitor lacks sufficient observations. It does not mean everyone is experiencing an outage.
Check official status separately
Official incident statements are another source with their own scope and update schedule. A provider may describe a particular product, feature or region. Read that scope before connecting it to your experience. We link to official sources but do not convert an unverified incident into a synthetic measurement.
Troubleshoot your actual workflow
If an app is slow, compare a simple new conversation with the affected workflow and record the time and visible error. For an API, preserve request metadata without sharing secrets. A successful website connectivity check only shows that your browser reached this website. It cannot establish that your account can reach a provider model.
